Don't Do (Too Many) Drugs
Derive inside some way describe a meaning to the motion The day-by-day escaping way of floating on the ocean Swimming still a grin until I’m weary of the water There needs to be a reason seen if not then, hell, why bother? Aware my ship had sank in fact I knew it long before Something in the wind had let me in on what's in store Still I plotted course besotted force of stubborn will Against the storm I fared until I bared my soul to swill Pricey poisons, powders, choices, broke me down in time Soon enough I’d sell my ship for one and final dime Alas I had not made the trade on dry and solid land Beneath me but the waves until I wash up on the sand So now I float not much to heed but sky and endless sea Searching for a reason why I’d done so much to me There has to be a meaning or what’s seeming as the same It’s up to me to find it for its I who holds the blame
