Don't cry, Don't cry.....
I keep my head down, trace the page, Try to act fine, try to look okay. The teacher talks, the room goes loud, But my thoughts sink beneath the crowd. I blink too hard, I stare ahead, Hold every feeling back instead. Cause if one tear falls, I know I’ll break, And everyone will see the ache. So I bite my tongue, I stay real still, Like silence somehow means I will Make it through another day Without the hurt giving me away. The bell will ring, the chairs will scrape, And I’ll escape with my face unchanged. But all through class, behind my eyes, I’m fighting the urge to cry.
