Dogs.
I want to see you. I want to see you in the way you once saw me. I want to bury your scars the way you tried to do for me. I long to feel with such emotion, it's tragic. I long to touch another with such tenderness. I long to have what I'll never be able to keep; I want to be trapped in you. I want to be locked in your ribcage, where my insecurities can't be seen. Where I'm safe. I want, and I long, but I don't need. take two: I want to see you. I want to see you the way you once saw me, before everything shattered. I want to bury your scars the way you tried to bury mine, even though it was never enough. I ache to feel with a depth so consuming, it tears me apart. I ache to touch another with the same tenderness that once felt like a lifeline. I crave what I know I’ll never hold; I want to be lost in you, swallowed whole. I want to be trapped inside your ribcage; where my flaws vanish in the shadows of your heartbeat. Where I am invisible. Where I am safe. I want to love like a dog, not as a violent cat. I want and crave, but never need.
