Distance Between Seasons
We were so close, but yet so far away, Like January chasing the warmth of December’s day. Moments between us, fleeting and brief, Like winter’s breath clinging to autumn's grief. Your laughter, a melody, a soft distant tune, Yet I was left longing, like the night for the moon. We danced in silence, a rhythm unshared, Each step leading me further, though I never dared. You were the horizon, forever out of reach, A lesson in love that no words could teach. Still, I held on, though you slipped through my grasp, Like sand through fingers, like time moving past. Now pieces of you linger, a bittersweet trace, I closed the book of us—but left pages blank, just in case.
