Distance
The hours stretch, an endless elastic, every second a heartbeat that reminds me that you are not here. The night is dressed in a cloak of loneliness, and the silence is filled with your absence, a cruel truth. The telephone, a bridge that only connects, but fails to shorten the distance that separates us. The words are lost in the void, and the longing becomes a torment that does not calm down. I see you in my dreams, so close, so real, but when I wake up, reality hits me, cruel. The distance becomes an invisible wall, that prevents me from feeling your warmth, your presence, your love. I dream of the day when our hands meet, and the distance becomes a distant memory. Meanwhile, I carry you in my heart, and I hope that this pain transforms into a stronger, closer love.
