Displaced
My breath catches in my throat, air fills my lungs, tears fill my eyes. I bite my dry lips, chewing on the meat inside my mouth, making my cheeks and my lips raw. I tear chunks of tissue out of the cheeks, waiting for the day that I'll eventually chew a hole threw it and reveal my teeth from angles people never expect to see. I stare up at the ceiling as I think about all the things that bug me. Millions of noises, sounds, lights, an utter sickness everytime I open my eyes. I wonder if they'll notice, if they'll see me. I'm not as important as the younger ones, it'll never let me be. I'm practically a ghost living in this home, sheets over my head except it's never Halloween. Nobody ever listens to what I have to say. When I speak, I'm silenced and when I'm silenced I'm I'm just as invisible as I was yesterday. People care for only a second, only remember me for a moment. I'm unimportant in the book that is life, I'm the side character they mention once and only few remember.
