Diplomatic Kindness
it was 5 below zero in the dead of water in downtown Manhattan in Feb. of 1998 I had signed up to feed any homeless person we could find on the street Some friends and I ran frantically In a 10 block radius Searching for bodies in adjacent settings But Got Damn it was cold We were Freezing I was a cold flag pole running around n the dead of winter in club attire Well past midnight we ran those streets in downtown Manhattan feeding the homeless We lost our ride, well almost... I'd never ran so hard and fast to get away from that scene That Pluto-like night froze my dreams My friends and I ran for warmth... til this very day it seems
