Different Fires
"Different Fires" By Major Blanks Girls and boys, both feel the flame, But how it burns is not the same. A spark for one, a storm for two, Each temper has its point of view. A girl might simmer, slow and low, Hold it in, then let it go. She'll smile and nod, but deep inside, A thundercloud begins to rise. A boy might burst without a pause, Quick to shout and state his cause. No holding back, his fuse runs fast, His anger hits, then fades at last. Girls may cry or turn away, But carry words we didn’t say. Their storm might come in quiet tears, Not always loud, but full of fears. Boys may punch or stomp the ground, Explode with force, then calm back down. It’s not they care or hurt much less, They just don't always show the stress. One is fire, steady and slow, One’s a blaze with a sudden glow. But both are human, wild and real, Different ways we show we feel. So don’t compare, just understand, A temper’s shaped by heart and hand. Girl or boy, we all burn bright, In different ways, we fight our fight.
