Didactic Devotion
Teach me, dear Master, the art of loving You, A discipline I yearn to learn, to cultivate anew, For oftentimes, I stumble, and unwittingly offend, Not out of malice, but ignorance, my heart does intend. Guide me, gentle Instructor, in the ways of Your heart, That I may learn to love You, with a deeper, more profound start, I crave knowledge of Your nature, Your essence, and Your ways, To cherish, honor, and adore You, in all my waking days. Verily, I acknowledge my limitations, my frailties, and my fears, Yet, I am willing, nay, eager, to learn, to grow, and to persevere, Teach me, dear Lord, the secrets of Your love, That I may reciprocate, with a devotion sent from above. I thirst to know more of Your majesty, Your glory, and Your might, To bask in the radiance of Your presence, and to take flight, In the realm of Your love, I long to soar, To dance with abandon, and to adore.
