Devoured
In the beginning He was sweet and kind Like the taste of ripe strawberries In the early summer sun He put me on a silver platter It felt amazing For someone to act devoted Like every touch fed his soul Like every glance nourished him Slowly he grew hungrier Said i was plated beautifully On my platter i thought I should only ease his hunger I allowed him to feed off me He ate parts of my soul He ripped my flesh from bone He devoured my mind Untill the only thing left Was how i felt He became ravaged Till the point he needed me whole He was no longer kind My bones cracked Between his maws I couldn't escape the pressure I still gave myself to him On a platter stained copper From the blood All i became was a meal Thats all i came to be He didn't even need me All he needed was the feeling That his gluttony wasn't a sin So i became his haven I said he wasn't selfish When he was For leaving me as only bones He ripped the platter out From under my feeble body When i was no longer enough Enough to stop the rumble From inside his body Once he had me whole I wanted a small portion Just a miniscule amount of him Yet i was denied I allowed him to graze Freely when i was restricted
