DEVIL'S ZONE
In comfort’s snare, I’m held captive tight, A prisoner of ease, in the devil’s delight. A zone of complacency, where growth is rare, Where opportunities pass, without a single care. The devil’s speaks, “Stay within these walls, Where it’s safe and warm, and no challenges enthrall.” He lures me with distractions, a never-ending stream, Of screens and sofas, where my dreams succumb to a scream. In this comfort zone, I’m numb and unaware, Of the world outside, where possibilities await to share. The devil’s zone, where fear and doubt reside, A place where potential withers and the heart can not hide. But still, a voice within me cries, “Break free from these chains, and reach for the skies.” A call to adventure, to shatter the mold, To leave the devil’s zone and discover a story untold. So I will rise up and shake off the spell, And step into the unknown where my true self will dwell. For in the devil’s zone, I’m lost and alone, But in the world outside, my spirit will find its home. "My Bouqet of Words" 016/100 -Joseph O. Paul
