despondent love
My love, depression, you're my dear companion, Anxiety, my husband, in this dark union. You hold the power to constrict my throat, Squeeze my limbs, leaving me feeling remote. Thrusting my stomach, causing me to gasp, For breath, as if caught in a never-ending grasp. Whispers in my head, a constant symphony, 24/7, they play, tormenting me endlessly. But even in this darkness, I find solace, For my poetic structure knows no malice. Free verse, where emotions can freely flow, Expressing the depths of my sorrow and woe. Each line, with syllables of any count, Reflecting the chaos within, no doubt. Yet, amidst the pain, I strive to befriend, To find a way to heal, to mend. So, let the tone be friendly, not harsh, For in this battle, I seek a fresh start. Though the weight is heavy, I'll wear a smile, To face the challenges, even if it takes a while. Auto-detecting the key points of my strife, Language becomes a tool to navigate life. And in this detected language, English, I write, To shed light on the darkness, to ignite. For depression, my love, may be a part of me, But it won't define who I'm meant to be. With resilience and hope, I'll rise above, Embracing life, with a heart full of love.
