Despair
In the depths of despair, where shadows reign A soul is trapped, in a prison of pain He sits alone, in the darkness of his mind Tormented by thoughts, that never leave him behind The rain pours down, like tears from above A reminder of sorrow, a heart that's lost its love He wears a mask of joy, a disguise so thin To hide the anguish, that threatens to consume him within He's lost in a sea, of endless grief and woe Where every breath, is a burden to bear He's searching for solace, a respite from the pain But it's a fleeting dream, that vanishes like rain Why the cruelty, why the suffering, why the strife? Why the unbearable weight, of a life without a life? He's a vessel empty, a heart turned to stone A soul forever lost, in a darkness that's grown His mind a maze, a labyrinth of unending night Where shadows roam free, and hope's light is extinguished in flight He's a traveler without a map, a heart without a home A soul forever doomed, to roam the earth alone In this abyss of sorrow, he's drowning in his tears A heart that's shattered, into a million fears He's a whisper in the wind, a cry that goes unheard A soul that's lost forever, in a darkness that's unexplored.
