Descent
Not even a curtain on the window It's hard to muffle my cries I wish you didn't know What I thought behind my eyes Its a pathetic and grueling sound Nails on a chalkboard With a source not to be found Unless you plan to talk more With nowhere for this agony to go It rumbles in my chest It resides inside so low Not a place for it to rest Just tell me to puke it up and out "It's so ugly!" Everyone shouts Now no one with no place to go Not even a reflection in the mirror Leave me to walk this road alone Maybe to somewhere far off, without fear I think deep down I always knew That explains the pain in my stomach But I don't want this to be true It's been ages since you sang me a song Is this how it's supposed to be How it was going to turn out all along How can I ever make you see I run out of fire And I lose my pace But I never was a liar But I never got to win the race
