Demon
They say, “Hide from the demon that lurks by your bed,”But to no avail, for we are all masks, And nature itself pulls the thread. What fear can I claim, what lie can I tell, When the demon walks with me, Knows me so well? Why should I run from the shadows I cast, When perhaps I was the trigger all along, The echo of a darker past?
