Defiant Ember
Flames of faith within a damned soul— Is there a shred of good not yet lost? For I've seen the darkness within: a snarling beast, gnawing at roots, its shadow heavier than bone. No compass. No guide. Only the echo of a scream I’m no longer sure is mine. The soul frays— threads snap, unraveling— yet something burns: small, reckless, refusing to kneel. I wade through the black, teeth gritted, searching for a flicker, a defiant pulse that dares defy the endless night. The dark may claim me, but not without a fight. © All Rights Reserved
