Defeat
I sit there in defeat as she walks in. She struggles to contain her laugh as she looks my way. I watch her come over, and she’s bright as day. Hunched over and grim, as I could feel my hair thin. He’s drawn to her. All color slowly creeps away. He understands I know his betray. My stomach churns as he begins to grin. At her. He gets up to leave, and I can not breathe. Suffocating in my thoughts. How could I have been so naive? I can not say goodbye. He cheated. How could everything we had all been a lie?
