December 3rd
A day that carries a story untold But not for reasons I care to unfold Now a stranger, farther away While you left, my love did stay As the glimmer in your eyes faded out I watched our love fade, without a doubt The date we finally parted ways After many long and grueling days Though my heart feels some relief A part of me still holds belief That maybe, if we'd tried just a bit more We could've still loved each other to the core December 3rd, a night's reprieve A future robbed, gone in an eve The night I saw your true side revealed A side you kept well concealed I wish the night hadn't torn us apart But even the strongest bonds must part And so I write, on April 1st Of all poems, this one hurts worst While others were giving their sweater You gave me a final letter That of this date, our future was blurred A date I'll never forget: December 3rd
