Death's Call
Death's Call by Jack A.S. Dunce I think about you every single day, The rest and peace you offer those you called Once I was beckoned but resisted sway Despite the calmness that left me enthralled. I lived, but was it worth the troubled days? The battle never ends, a tiresome grind. With joy unknown and lost to a scarred graze, The days are drawn nights that caught and entwined. I fought to come back but with purpose lost. A day of labor passed just for its sake, Deprived of reason but for paying cost. My mind exhausted with this shallow take. Your peace and rest enticing weary souls, But conscience turned deaf ears to the bell's tolls. (c)pgmr 11/27/2023 photo not mine, Cttro
