"Death to myself"
Within my chest, a battle rages deep, I am dying, trapped inside my health war. A phantom's grip, a darkness I must keep, Like macabre tunes that dance 'pon shadows' floor. Oh, wretched body, vessel of despair, The anguish festers, whispers never cease. Each breath I take fuels eerie melodies, A symphony of pain that will not cease. With every warbled note in colors bleak, My soul is strangled, darkness takes its hold. Like ravens perched upon a barren tree, My spirit mourns, my heart grows ever cold. Within my mind, a thousand demons roam, They taunt and torment with their wicked song. In shadows cast, they sing their mournful tone, A requiem for a life that's been so wronged. My heart doth slowly bleed, Into these lines, my sorrow creeps and weaves. Through equal measures, dreary words proceed, My shattered life, this shattered heart relieves. In mourning dirge, I pay my final debt, To celebrate this life's dark travesty. With echoes haunting, melancholy set, Adieu, farewell, to happier days we flee.
