Death, I Am Waiting
Death, I am waiting—soft and still, Like autumn leaves on a quiet hill. The winds may call, the stars may fade, Yet here I stand, unafraid. I hear your whisper in the night, A hush, a breath, a fleeting light. Not with sorrow, nor with fear, But open arms—I draw you near. The world has sung its final tune, The sky has lost its silver moon. No chains remain to hold me tight, No shadows left to fear the night. So take my hand, I shall not run, For I have danced, I have sung. And now in silence, calm and true, Death, I am waiting—only you.
