Death
I met him almost 5 years ago He was in a suit... Presentable He was calm... Loveable The kind of stranger you'd trust without asking why He never introduced himself. Didn't have to He placed his arm over my shoulder Smiled at me... He shouldn't have I smiled back... My biggest mistake He walked beside me... I mistook him for company Anyone would've trusted him too Quite a gentleman, he was Years passed in a blur His smile never faltered But something about him changed The suit... That's what changed The suit... It became silence The silence became absence The kind of absence that learned the names of people I loved The kind of absence that turned the people I adored into memories Only then did I realize... I never met a man... I met him I met DEATH
