Dear Mom,
I wish you knew What the pain I felt Was like for me I wish you knew How much I needed you But instead How much you needed me I needed to be nurtured But I learned on my own How to nurture myself I learned a lot of things Things I wished You would have taught me You had me strangled In your chaos In return I was choking On your pain Along with mine I never knew How to help you As you never showed Me how to help myself My pain turned to anger And I held onto that anger For as long as I could Until I let go of the chains That were connected to you A bit of peace came to my life But the pain of not having you Will always be apart of me
