Dear Mom
I don't know if you love me If you shudder at the sound of my voice If you regret that choice you made 20 sum years ago to birth a broken baby High hopes converted to hopeless highs A lost cause since the first breath A disappointment until death It was a set-up for failure the moment I opened my eyes My identity is defined as a burden My motivation is self-sabotage driven by my psychological mirage Over time I understand how your opinion of me has worsen I'm not good people cursed since the womb Destined for inevitable doom My reactions out of boredom terrorize My best intentions are lethal The desire to live, breathe, & succeed is far from my reach Nor is it something you can teach yet something you acquire when you feel the love you need I needed a maternal shoulder to cry on yet your shoulders freeze my fingertips My flaws pierce from your lips preference of my absence over my presence Where did I go wrong?
