Dear Destiny
!! This poem explores topics of violence, racism, and police. Discretion is advised !! Dear Destiny, why do you give so much hurt? Dear Destiny, why do you give so much love? Why is it that for each scar on my back, I've received ten times more loving hate? I let go and hold you, because I love but hate you If you predict it all like a psychic, can you change it too? Or are you like a pawn too? Subjected to the hate and love we all are Does it make you human? Or above like the ones with shiny badges and guns? Like the ones with the perfect, snow colored skin But of course we're not human, if we were we might be treated humane But we're just animals, treated as such and called such and all you say is "Damn, that sucks" So dear Destiny, why don't you change it? Change it so that each hit is healed So that the sickness is cured But until then the gunshots will count each one !! Despite racial inequality being much less than it was in the past, it still exists and is very prominent. By acknowledging this we can change this and get rid of it completely !!
