dear alice
Oh Alice, dear Alice, I’ve lost my dear way, In a world twisted round, where the clocks fade away. I sit at my table, so empty and still, But the whispers of time, they howl through the mill. Once, I was clever, a hatter so grand, Crafting with joy every shape from my hand. But now, dear Alice, the madness it grows, Like ink in the water, as sanity goes. The tea once was sweet, as it flowed from the spout, But now it is bitter, so bitter, no doubt. The cups have no meaning, the saucers have none, And the mad little hare is now pointing a gun! Do you remember, Alice? The dance of the tea? The way we’d laugh wildly and sip joyously? But now, my dear girl, the laughter it fades, And the shadows, they come with their chilling charades. The mirror’s reflection—it laughs at my face, It tells me I’ve gone to a far-off place. p Where no clocks exist, and the moments decay, Where the past is a blur and the future won’t stay. I’ve fallen through cracks of my own twisted mind, A spiral of madness, one tangled and blind. Do you hear it? The ticking! The endless refrain! A chorus of whispers that drives me insane.
