Deafening Silence
A Fly circled my head, It's taunts could drive a Saint to hate. But as I swatted the pest below, I did not imagine that it could be bait; My relief was short-lived, As I soon began to drown... The world held a Deafening Silence— That swallowed Me all around. "Come back!" I begged—to little avail. My Sorrow could not understand, For it was my choice to hide under this veil. So here I sleep, Resting on a pillow stuffed with lies... I lay my head onto its cool surface. I've made a home, of my hungry demise. A thought circles my head... It's consistency has driven my mind to a checkmate. I knew the Fly had Me beat. When its absence—was louder than the buzz I learned to love all too late.
