"Dead Inside" I walk, I talk, I breathe the air, But deep within, there's nothing there. A hollow shell, a faded glow, A shadow of the self I used to know. The days go by, all blurred, the same, The world moves on, but I remain. I wear a smile, I play the part, But there's no life within my heart. It's not the pain, it's not the tears, It's the absence that confirms my fears. No joy, no sorrow, no anger to feel, Just emptiness, stark and unreal. Memories linger, bittersweet and cold, Reminding me of a time I was whole. When I laughed, when I dreamed, when I cared, Before the void came and left me ensnared. I want to scream, but the sound won't come, My voice is lost, my soul feels numb. I want to cry, but no tears will fall, For I feel nothing, nothing at all.
