DAYS OF WAR GONE BY
Here I sit home at night the children sleeping tucked up tight. My thoughts turn to so you far away, fighting for our freedom everyday. My only wish is to be with you, safe and warm having a brew, instead here I am putting pen to paper to send my words for you to read later. Serving your country making us proud, i wish i could shout it out aloud. The pain inside is all around, I know one day you will return safe and sound, feet back firmly upon British ground. But for now I must be strong and carry on where I belong, with the children in school and me in the factory making, munitions for the boys overseas, doing my bit to bring theenemy to their knees. Here I must end as the time is nigh for me to go to bed and gentlycry dreaming of you and I.
