Daylight Brew
Daylight Brew By Jack A.S. Dunce It's the first thing that comes to mind The moment I awake As natural as breathing air As sure as sunrise at daybreak. From stolen sips in my childhood, To habit or a vice, It's still highly debatable, I'm hooked despite advice. Without it, I'd sleepwalk through life: My studies, all babble; Adult living, a third degree; My name would be trouble. A whiff of it instills the calm, A scent that reigns the beast. A cup that holds the light of day. No need to call a priest. It's made with bit of alchemy: Eight parts of heaven's tears, To one part of ground brown nectar. I take it black, no fears. ©️pgmr 12/24/2024
