Darkness Will Pass
When night time comes, I find myself alone. The darkness makes familiar strange, As shadows start to creep across the things I know, They start to rearrange. Transforming into things of which I am unsure- Things horror films are made of, and creatures of old time, forgotten lore. And a chill runs down my spine and my hair stands up on end The night becomes a scary place until in the sky the sun ascends. I whisper the Lord's prayer, and ask God to hold me tight, and keep me safely as I sleep as dusk turns to night. And I close my weary eyes and and overcome by dread, I fall into a deep sleep, under the safety of the blankets on my bed. And as my eyes begin to open, the sunlight fills the room. And I remember that even after the darkest nights of doom, The morning sun will always shine and it will be a better day, as it fills my room. Dark times don't last forever, even they too, shall pass. And better days will follow them, just as heartache and pain recede, they can never last. So, when darkness surrounds you and doom and defeat loom overhead-- Remember the morning sun is coming, just say a prayer and go to bed. When you wake, you'll be refreshed and ready for a new day. Just hope, have faith, and pray.
