Darkness Falls
Darkness falls. And with it comes the creatures of the night. Silence permeates the starlit sky. Swiftly, leaves rustle in the midnight breeze. Wind so cool and crisp. Crickets chirp and owls ask "Who?" The night creeps slowly by. Glamour all around. Night so deep it encompasses every crevice. Every nook. Darkness so thick it feels like death. Yet in this dark death, life abounds. A jaguar purrs with satisfaction after its daily meal. A bat whistles sharply sensing all around its kill. lightning bugs buzz all around, giving off light, For all who need it's feel. A snake slithers through the grass, Attacking all thats not still. Critters & creatures, all thriving in the last of the night. Awaiting the new dawn. The Sky starts to dwindle. light creeps back overhead The moon says good-bye once more And no longer does anything look dead. Rebirth The sun breaks out over the horizon. The first ray of shine streaks across the sky. The rooster cries out. Once, then twice. And a canyon eagle takes wing to fly. The sunrise so beautiful. Golden hues mix with fiery light. A magnificent masterpiece for the creators delight. The day gives way for life
