The dark used to scare me But now it's a familiarity Is pain life's toll The stories these have told Everything begins to unfold A heart of steel But that's not how I feel Is any of this actually real If they read these words Would it reveal my hurt Or would it reveal something worse I want to remove my mask When will I escape my past Except I don't remember it Was it worth remembrance Was it worth forgetting who I am
