dark self
My mind races in a endless marathon, Haunted by the ghosts that makes my nerve scream, You ask about my deepest fear? I will deceive, Spiders, darkness or something foul I will conceive, Masking the truth of fearing to see myself when I take my clothes off, Because having the fear of facing my own thoughts and self is something too shallow, Whenever I look in the mirror, a distorted reflection with red swollen eyes, my true self stares back, forcing me to swallow, The reflection is an old acquaintance who makes my inner demons start to hollow, Holding the blade's razor edge, with tiny crimson drops of blood dripping as its gaze pierces my very soul, I inhale deeply, attempting to enfold her, But with each step closer, fragile lines etch across my palms and fingers, I crumble to the ground, my strength surrendered, For in her eyes, my darkest self is discovered.
