Dance Through the Darkness
A yes, this is what we all want to hear, Even when deep down, we know everything’s not alright, dear. The mirror reflects only my outer shell, But can’t reveal how much I’ve turned pale. Sailing through days and nights of hard work, Just waiting for that night to celebrate, to flick the cork. Already weighed down by miseries and pain of the past, Here I stand, with my new burnt cast. A gut that left everything for something crashing, Fraying the faith in every ounce of confidence clashing. Oh yeah, darkness is dense, with no fence in sight, No literal line, just a debt of landmines to fight. Dancing through the crowd and traffic drains me, But I can’t fall sick; there are boxes to tick, you see. Just a small shift can make you stand like a brick, Let there be a “yes” for the jump, and “no” for the fun to be bare. Fearing loss will only end your starting cruise; Bruises will come, but they're lessons to be gained, Moments will rise in spans, so keep working and enjoy the dance.
