"Daddy's Little Black Sheep"

At the age of 3, she thought he was her king At the age of 4, she thought he was her world At the age of 5, she thought he was her magician At the age of 6, she thought he had all the answers. At age 7, things began to change At age 8, she thought he was an ogar At age 9, she thought seeing him was her worst nightmare. At age 10, she realized he was one angry fellow. When she became 11, she realized he didn't love her. At age 12, she fought for his love At age 13, she kept praying for his attention At age 14, she tried not to love him. At age 15, she cried daily wondering why the only man who was supposed to have her back mistreated her so much. From age 16 to 30, she cried daily just because she fought daily for her father's love and attention. Then, one night, God opened her eyes and showed her she had him her Heavenly Father. Right there and then, baby girl realized all the attention she was seeking she had it all these years. She wasn't listening closely enough to God. Until that Sunday night when she decided to listen, and she heard God's voice whispering through her fingers while she wrote this poem. Right there, and then baby girl started to shine. I'll Always and Forever will be grateful
