cut my skin
I'll cut my skin, for you. Because society told me to. I'll never be good enough for myself, unless I'm good enough for everybody else. Cutting out pictures from magazines, and then glue them onto me. So that I'll fit in with everyone else that shows up in movie scenes. Dyed my hair, to make you like me more. Got new clothes, that show off skin. But there's nothing to do it for, if I don't get thin. Covered up my fingers, with silver rings. My skin may be raw and green, but at least they can't see how thick they under everything. I'll cut my skin, because they told me to. Beauty is a phase, that's become alarmingly true. But I'd give anything to look like they do.
