Cursed Birthday
Each year, another candle burns, A flicker in the darkness, dim and stern, A day meant for joy, a day meant for light, Yet shadows gather, swallowing the night.Toxic voices fill the air like smoke, Family ties that suffocate, choke. Their words are knives, their touch, a stain, They craft my cage of endless pain.No wishes whispered, no gifts of grace, Just another day in this haunted place. The world sings songs of joy and cheer, But I only hear the screams and jeers.I've never known a genuine smile, Never felt happiness, not even for a while. A mask of calm, a face so pale, Walking through life as if it were a jail.I follow my sorrow, step by step, A twisted dance in a mournful depth. The grave feels closer with each breath I take, And I wonder when this heart will break. My birthdays are curses that I cannot flee, A reminder of all that’s been stolen from me. No love, no peace, no hope’s soft gleam, Just a life that feels like a waking dream. And so I march, as shadows consume, Toward the silence of a lonesome tomb. Maybe there, beneath cold earth and stone, I’ll find the peace I've never known.
