crumbling
the earth is crumbling beneath my feet there are no safe paths to walk every step could send me plummeting down... down... down... down into the void why does this fear reside inside my chest? why can't my heart understand what my brain knows? what am I missing? my heart aches for simplicity the world demands extravagance my mind craves constancy the world is ever changing every day a new battle rages every day something up and coming makes headlines every day they turn blind eyes every day I lose trust just let me live my life like a bee, leave me alone and I'll not need to defend myself blame me for the sting when it was you who attacked my nest? I think I won't accept your projection and instead focus on my foundation my world is already in ruins I can see yours is in shambles, too the difference between you and i, my friend, is how I accept my failures, my faultlines, my mistakes you can not say the same so while I'm preoccupied with applying Kintsugi to my broken world you're trying to rebreak these precious pieces we are not the same once upon a time, yes, we were but no longer these crumbles are mine to do with as I will and I'm making biscuits go find your own
