Cruel Adieu
The scent of rain on parched earth, mirrored the ache in my heart's core. Your laughter, a distant, mocking mirth, echoed in chambers I could explore no more. Your touch, once a sunbeam's gentle grace, now felt like frost upon my skin. A stranger's eyes held your familiar space, a chasm opened, where love had been within. I watched you build a world anew, with hands that once held mine so tight. Each whispered word, a cruel adieu, drowning hope in endless night. The silent screams, unheard, unseen, fell like tears upon the ground. A love betrayed, a shattered dream, leaving only emptiness profound. I search for answers, lost in the haze, of what was promised, then denied. The ghost of your smile, in a sunlit maze, a haunting memory, I cannot hide.
