Crowd
Crowds In the hustle of the crowded street, Anxiety creeps into my heart like a thief, The noise, the chaos, the sea of faces, All blend together in a daunting greet, Shoulders bumping, voices shouting, My senses overwhelmed, my mind doubting, Eyes darting, searching for a familiar face, But all I see is a blur of race, I feel a tightening in my chest, As the crowd pushes me with no rest. My breath quickens, my pulse races, Anxiety grips me in its tight embraces, I pray for one moment of peace, But in this sea of chaos, it seems out of reach, I close my eyes, try to calm my mind, But the noise and the crowd are unkind, I search for space, for quiet and still, But in this crowd, I feel a chill, Anxiety grips me tighter and tighter, As the crowd's energy burns me like a fire, I struggle to break free, to find my way, But in this crowd, I am led astray, Lost in a crowd of faces and noise, I battle my anxiety, a war of poise, Written by Shannan
