Could've
The thing you wish that could've, The life you think you should've. Your mind won't speak, but mine must have, To tell you what you couldn't have. That might be a wish, a thing, or a dream, It could be a feeling, a whim on the brim, A ream, a stream, a scheme, that you couldn't bring, A person, a moment, a memory of him. A regime, a scream, maybe something extreme, A vision you saw but now it's so dim, A world, a reality, that turns to be a meme, A truth that you can't face on a desolate whim. Letting this could've is not a mere effort, It's not a wound that you can assert, Perhaps the only comfort is to divert, And let the power of time heal what truly hurt.
