Communion
I take communion in the middle of a boring service not out of any devotion to Christ or to God but because I am a bit hungry. I take the sign of the cross pretend to say a prayer of penance or maybe bargain with God for something. Maybe a good grade on a test when I could be studying. I finish my little sliver of a cracker and my sip of grape juice, playing the part of wine, which plays the part of blood.
