COLD OUTSIDE
Cold outside, the air bites my skin I shiver and pull my coat tighter in The wind howls and whistles through the trees As I walk through the winter freeze The snow crunches beneath my feet As I trudge through the icy sleet The world is quiet, still and white A blanket of frost covers everything in sight I long for the warmth of a crackling fire To thaw my frozen bones and desire But for now, I must brave the cold And embrace the winter's icy hold For in the chill, there is a beauty A stark and silent serenity So I'll bundle up and face the frost And cherish the moments that are not lost For even in the coldest night There is a glimmer of warmth and light And as I walk through the winter's chill I find peace and solace, still.
