Cold
Cold In the still darkness of a cold dead night, A heavy weight settles over my chest, And fill my mind with thoughts of unrest, As the demons of doubt and fear take flight, A symphony of chaos in my head, My heart beats like a drum, out of time, Anxiety gnawing at me like a beast, Leaving me restless in my bed. I try to shake off the cold grip of despair, Whispering cruel lies in my ear, Telling me I'll never win, The coldness is filling up the air, My thoughts swirl like a raging storm, A tornado of self-doubt and fear, I can't escape the darkness that looms, The cloud of depression is always near. When some days the fight seems too much, And I long to surrender to the cold, To sink into the icy depths, And let the darkness take hold. Written by Shannan
