Cold
My heart floods and it drips My soul turns blue As all the memories appear That are of you. Tears fall now Sliding, now drying As I look back at what we had When you were both well. All the cute pictures I took of you And all the ones more I hoped to take Flood through my heart. My skin turns cold As my heart now feels empty I'm drowning deeper Through the shallows of my sadness. Through the depths of my despair. My hands still warm Still soft From when I touched you there. Your fur Your skin Turns cold As the medication runs out Allowing you to breathe the air. Allowing you to suffer again After the sedation. Your bones full of cancer Of which travelled to your lungs. I'm sorry we could never see it I'm sorry you had to live like that. I wish I could do better. I gave you the last kiss That I could ever give you As your skin turns cold again.
