Here we both are back at the start  Back when I didn't know you had my heart A simple touch, now complex Complicated now but not like then Stressed in bed as I'm in my head  Always wondering what comes next  Where do you start with "I love you" When I could never tell you  Knowing our lives can't restart But I hurt when we are apart Like when a fire burns to hot A pain worse than getting shot Close to the start of something new  But not as close as I feel with you The way you shine so bright Makes it difficult to put up a fight If you asked me to stay the night; I might Cherishing it as the time passes by Hoping tonight we'll stay held on tight But instead I'm in bed waiting for a reply When will you realize the feeling we can't deny? Stuck in this endless plight Waiting for an escape that's not in sight Ceased but feelings still alight For a girl that's my delight  Close, but not quite right.
