Claws of Salvation
Ravens call a song so sweet A message for death, a life to repeat The Ravens call a message so sweet With the dark eyes that watch me scurry and retreat They stalk through my walls, with feathers so grand Their shadows loom large, in this tiny land Why do they hate me? I'm just a small soul Trying to hide, in my secret hole Their midnight wings, a terrorizing sound A threat to my safety, in this underground town Their eyes gleam with hunger, a predator's stare I'm frozen in fear, with no escape to share But then a furry form, a shadow so fine Pounces on the raven, with claws that shine Unaware of my presence, she stalks her prey And in her hunt, she sets me free to stray The raven takes flight, with a mournful cry And I scurry away, with a grateful sigh The cat watches me go, with eyes so bright Unknowingly saving me, from the darkness of night.
