Claw machine
I put a coin in, I lose. I put another coin in, I lose once again. I am frustrated- but the idea of winning a prize entices me. I put a coin in, I lose- but I am drawn in by the bright capsules where such worthy prizes are said to be held. I put a coin in, I lose- I have such little change left- but I am drawn in. I put in a coin- ching, ching! I lose. I put in my last coin- ching, ching! I win my own colorful capsule. I open the capsule- why what is this? This plastic item is not worthy of my change! I reach into my pocket with such terrible frustration- where has my change disappeared? Thief! You are a thief I say! I call it a thief, which the machine is indeed- but at the end of the day, I am a fool. Meaning of poem: I know... another toxic relationship poem. Basically one partner is giving everything (their money, time, etc) to their significant other. Their partner is taking all their money, time, and what-not. The toxic significant other has a terrible personality deep down inside but hides it until you go deeper (spend more time with them.) So basically, the claw machine is the toxic partner and the person playing is the partner putting all their time, money, etc into the toxic partner.
