childhood stolen
Feigning vulnerability and innocence, but doubting whether I deserve those qualities. Am I innocent or ignorant? Am I vulnerable or highly aware? Perhaps I want to believe I am, to feel more connected to who I once was. It seems to me that the person I'm describing is no longer in this world, no longer exists, extincted years ago. It's a shame to think that someone so young could be tainted so early, though certainly not voluntarily. Inept people surrounded her life, tainting it with a premature and unnecessary darkness. Learning from it, while still innocent, she followed her path and got lost along it. A girl who ceases to be a girl, because of incompetent and irresponsible people, who, even though old enough to reflect, lack the maturity to act.
